The Connecticut Bar Association (CBA) is a voluntary, not-for-profit professional association of attorneys and judges. The purpose of the CBA is to improve the system of justice, encourage good legislation, promote the highest ethical standards among members, provide educational opportunities and information to members and to provide members the chance to serve the public and improve the image of the legal profession. The CBA has more than 11,000 members.
Project Description
The Connecticut Bar Association offers various services to its members, but
primarily they provide a vast compendium of legal resources. Most of these
resources are available directly on their web site, either free or for an
additional fee, but their old site lacked a cohesive structure and so finding
the right information was often difficult. Acentric worked with the CBA to
design and create the current site, allowing them to better leverage their vast
data stores and back-end processes. Acentric performed a detailed analysis of
the existing site technologies and site structure. We implemented several
recommendations, including changes to the underlying platform, updating of the
e-commerce capabilities, and adding comprehensive content management
functionalities. The end result was a web offering that is tightly integrated
into their overall IT infrastructure and functions as a key asset to their
business model.
