Project Description
The Consumer Lending Department of Republic is a large back-office operations center responsible for mortgages, home equity loans, credit cards, and personal lines of credit. This department handles a high volume of paper applications. These applications have been filled out, collected and mailed from the retail branch network.
Acentric partner Eric Mauriello worked with Republic to select and implement a document imaging and fax solution, which eliminated the need for traditional paper files. A FileNet and FacSys solution was selected based on the cost, scalability, technology fit and ease of customization.
The system was designed and implemented with inbound fax capture and onsite scanning stations designed for early stage digitization. The documents are then electronically routed to the appropriate team or individual based on barcodes. The imaging system was integrated with the legacy credit application system creating the relationship between the application data and the associated images. All subsequent documentation created by the application system is automatically filed to the customer's electronic folder.
